Job Description:

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Groups Sales Consultant to join their Namibia team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for group travel and proven experience in designing, selling, and managing tailor-made group travel experiences across Southern Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating bespoke itineraries, managing complex travel arrangements, and ensuring exceptional service and seamless travel experiences for clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, cost out, and sell customised, professional, and competitive ADHOC Leisure Group travel itineraries in Southern Africa for Group clients, tailored to each group's budget, requirements, and preferences.
  • Efficiently manage your workload, prioritising key clients and urgent requests to meet proposal response times.
  • Communicate effectively via email, phone, and online meetings with clients, answering questions about the program offered and handling special requests and/or concerns promptly.
  • Manage the end-to-end process, including client consultations, itinerary design, booking, accounting, and execution, in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate invoicing with suppliers while managing relationships throughout the itinerary planning and execution stages.
  • Address any unexpected issues during the travel experience immediately, ensuring a seamless experience for clients and guides.
  • Take immediate action on any client issues or complaints and keep the Team Leader informed in a structured and timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of bookings, feedback, and program performance for continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with other departments, such as Product and Finance, to ensure smooth operations and communication.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to Junior Consultants, sharing knowledge and best practices to drive team success.

Requirements: 

  • A diploma or degree in Tourism, Hotel Management or Events Management an advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Group Travel, with a focus on ADHOC Sales and Groups Series.
  • In-depth knowledge of Southern African tourism destinations, particularly Namiba
  • Proven experience in designing and selling Group travel programs within Southern Africa.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Tourplan and WETU systems and advantage.
  • German speaking an advantage (read, write and converse).
  • Proven ability to manage complex itineraries and to handle pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work extended hours when necessary to meet the demands and high pressure of the Travel Industry.
  • A proactive, problem-solving attitude and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with an ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both clients and suppliers.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and proven track record in use thereof.
