Job Description:

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Assistant, to support the finance department with daily administrative and accounting duties. The ideal candidate will assist with financial record keeping, data entry, budget tracking, invoice processing, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

Supplier Accounts

  • Posting all purchases.
  • Regular reconciliation of supplier accounts.
  • Stock control and reconciliation of purchase orders for operational supplies, including fuel, vehicle spares, cleaning products, tyres, etc.
  • Monitoring costs and ensuring cost-effectiveness.

Driver Trips

  • Scrutinising driver reconciliations for fuel and funds spent.
  • Posting and reconciling all driver trips and accounts.
  • Enforcing Head Office policies and procedures regarding logbooks and daily driver trips.

Client Reconciliations

  • Processing client reconciliations as instructed by Head Office.

Monthly Processing

  • Bi-monthly processing and reconciliation of all bank accounts.

Camping, Kitchen & Laundry

  • Supervising the camping, kitchen and laundry departments.
  • Ensuring compliance with stock control policies and procedures.
  • Placing timely stock orders with the South African office.
  • Issuing purchase orders to maintain appropriate stock levels.

Human Resources

  • Processing monthly employee Binary City clockings.
  • Arranging interviews, background checks and other HR-related activities as instructed by the HR Manager.

Administrative Support

  • Providing full administrative support to the HR & Finance Manager.
  • Performing ad-hoc duties as required.
  • Managing the office effectively during the Manager's absence.

Requirements:

  • Senior Certificate
  • Accounting Diploma
  • Proven Computer Literacy in terms of Pastel and Microsoft Office
  • Fluent in both English and Afrikaans (spoken, written)
  • Accute attention to details and accuracy
  • Ability to focus and work under pressure, both independently and as part of the team
  • Dependability, reliability and unequivocally trustworthy
  • Strong ethical and moral compass
