Accountant
Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Accountant to oversee accounting and financial administration. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, reconciliations, petty cash, payroll inputs, and stock-related queries, while supervising finance and administrative staff. The role also includes providing IT support and ensuring accurate, efficient, and compliant financial operations.
Responsibilities:
- All branch accounting: includes weekly reports and monthly financial accounts
- Daily & weekly management reports
- Supervision of financial / admin staff
- Bank/ adhoc reconciliations
- Assist with payroll inputs
- Petty Cash
- Assist with stock related queries
- Supporting staff on IT related matters at branch level
- Manage branch accounting, financial reporting, and monthly management accounts.
- Prepare daily and weekly financial reports and monitor branch performance.
- Perform bank, supplier, customer, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Manage petty cash, accounts payable/receivable, and cash flow.
- Assist with payroll, stock control, and financial queries.
- Monitor budgets, expenses, and financial variances.
- Ensure accurate financial records and compliance with company policies.
- Supervise and support finance and administrative staff.
- Assist with audits and provide financial information when required.
- Identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Provide financial analysis and support management decision-making.
- Liaise with head office, suppliers, customers, and auditors.
Requirements:
- Namibian Citizenship is essential.
- Tertiary education: Grade 12 essential with a relevant tertiary qualification in accounting.
- Previous experience: Accounting experience, with atleast 1 year at a management level essential.
- Computer literacy: A high degree of all–round computer literacy is required.
- Experience in an accounting package is essential. SAP experience would be an advantage.
- Special skills: Good interpersonal skills at management and staff level.
