Job Purpose
The Metering Engineer is responsible for providing onshore technical support for all fiscal, custody transfer, allocation, and process metering systems installed on the FPSO. The primary focus of the role is to ensure accurate hydrocarbon measurement, maintain metering system integrity, support hydrocarbon accounting, and ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, and international measurement standards. The role works closely with Offshore Operations, Instrumentation & Control, Production, Finance, Commercial, Reservoir, Marine, and Asset Integrity teams to ensure reliable measurement of crude oil, gas, produced water, fuel gas, and utility streams.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineer registration or eligibility is advantageous.
- Specialist training in fiscal metering or hydrocarbon measurement is highly desirable.
- Certification in measurement uncertainty, flow measurement, or custody transfer systems is advantageous.
Experience
- Minimum 7 years of engineering experience in hydrocarbon metering, instrumentation, or production measurement.
- Minimum 5 years supporting FPSOs, offshore production facilities, offshore terminals, LNG facilities, or pipeline operations.
- Demonstrated experience with fiscal metering, custody transfer, and hydrocarbon accounting.
- Experience supporting calibration, proving, and metering compliance programmes.
- Experience with offshore commissioning, brownfield modifications, and metering system upgrades.

- International Organization for Standardization standards relating to flow measurement (e.g., ISO 5167)
- Energy Institute Hydrocarbon Measurement Guidelines
- International Electrotechnical Commission standards for instrumentation and hazardous areas
- Applicable national petroleum measurement regulations and contractual measurement requirements
Software Skills
Proficiency in:
- Fiscal metering and flow computer software.
- Meter proving and calibration software.
- SAP S/4HANA or SAP ERP (Plant Maintenance module advantageous)
- Microsoft Excel (Advanced)

- Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
