Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Maintenance Technician who will be responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities to ensure that machinery, equipment, facilities, and utilities operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. The role involves planning preventive and corrective maintenance, controlling costs, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the overall maintenance, repair, safety, cleanliness, appearance, and proper functioning of the lodge's buildings, equipment, vehicles, electrical systems, grounds, gardens, and facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and supervise routine, corrective, and emergency maintenance.
  • Ensure machinery and equipment are maintained to required operational standards
  • Diagnose recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and equipment histories.
  • Manage spare parts, tools, and materials.
  • Monitor maintenance costs and identify opportunities to reduce downtime and expenses.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable legislation.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment, buildings, electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, and other facilities where applicable.
  • Ensure critical spare parts are available and properly controlled.
  • Investigate equipment breakdowns and recommend improvements or replacements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 5+ years of maintenance experience, with experience in a supervisory position preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and/or facility systems.
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to equipment breakdowns and emergencies.
