Job Description:

The Senior Parts Salesman is responsible for maximizing parts sales, providing exceptional customer service, maintaining strong relationships with customers, and ensuring the accurate identification, pricing, and supply of commercial vehicle parts. The role supports revenue growth and customer retention through efficient parts sales and technical product knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Customer Service

  • Promote and sell OEM parts to customers.
  • Achieve monthly and annual sales targets.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with fleet operators, workshops, transport companies, and individual customers.
  • Identify customer requirements and recommend appropriate parts solutions.
  • Follow up on quotations and convert opportunities into sales.

Parts Identification & Technical Support

  • Accurately identify vehicle parts using electronic catalogues, VIN numbers, and manufacturer systems.
  • Provide technical advice on parts applications and compatibility.
  • Assist customers in selecting the correct parts for repairs and maintenance.

Inventory & Stock Management

  • Monitor stock availability and advise management on fast-moving and slow-moving items.
  • Assist in stock counts and inventory control activities.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of parts to prevent damage and losses.
  • Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to maintain adequate stock levels.

Administration

  • Prepare quotations, invoices, and sales orders accurately.
  • Maintain up-to-date customer records and sales activities.
  • Process customer transactions according to company procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and financial controls.

Business Development

  • Identify new business opportunities and potential customers.
  • Conduct customer visits and attend marketing activities.
  • Promote special offers, campaigns, and new product lines

Working Conditions

  • Based at the parts sales counter and warehouse environment.
  • Regular interaction with customers, suppliers, and workshop personnel.
  • Alternating standby duties

Experience & Qualifications

  • Diploma or Certificate in Sales, Business Administration, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
  • Additional training in automotive or commercial vehicle parts is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in commercial vehicle parts sales.
  • Experience with truck, bus, or heavy-duty vehicle parts preferred.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets.
  • Competence in Microsoft office packages
