HR/IR OFFICER
Job Description:
Minimum Requirements
- Honours Degree in Human Resources, Employment and Labour Relations, or Industrial Psychology.
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications or certificates will be an added advantage.
- At least 3 years' relevant working experience in a similar position.
- Familiarity with the Labour Act No. 11 of 2007.
- Familiarity with Affirmative Action (Employment) Act No. 29 of 1998.
- Proven experience in initiating and managing disciplinary hearings.
- Proven experience in negotiations with Trade Unions representing the employer.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Familiarity with ISO Quality Management Systems.
- Knowledge and/or experience in Organisational Development and Talent Management practices.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Conducting investigations into reported allegations of misconduct.
- Drafting charges for formal disciplinary hearings.
- Initiating and facilitating disciplinary hearings on behalf of the employer.
- Coordinating and conducting training activities with relevant constituency representatives.
- Facilitating employee wellness activities in collaboration with relevant authorities.
- Maintaining accurate records of training and employee wellness activities.
- Assisting with conflict de-escalation and workplace conflict resolution.
- Representing the employer in Employment Equity Committee meetings.
- Engaging with the recognised Trade Union on behalf of the employer.
- Participating in stakeholder meetings when required.
- Assisting management with the implementation and review of company policies.
- Analysing industry practices and standards in line with organisational policies.
- Monitoring and advising management on HR/IR trends in Namibia.
- Drafting and distributing internal memoranda as instructed by the Line Manager.
- Conducting routine engagements with employees regarding workplace and departmental matters.
- Performing other HR/IR duties as assigned by management.
