Position: CE Driver (With 10T Forklift Licence) – Walvis Bay
Department: Logistics / Transport
Location: Walvis Bay
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate CE-class heavy-duty vehicles.
- Transport and deliver goods to designated locations according to scheduled routes and delivery requirements.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Ensure all cargo is correctly loaded, secured, transported, and offloaded.
- Operate a 10-ton forklift when required and within the scope of the relevant licence.
- Operate HIAB/truck-mounted crane equipment when required
- Complete trip sheets, vehicle inspection checklists, and other required documentation accurately.
- Ensure all delivery documentation is signed and returned to the relevant department.
- Conduct and participate in HIRA (Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment) before commencing tasks where required.
- Identify hazards and implement appropriate control measures during transport and loading/offloading activities.
- Comply with Dangerous Goods requirements when transporting hazardous materials.
- Follow all road traffic laws, company policies, HSE requirements, and customer site rules.
- Always use and maintain the required PPE.
- Carry out alcohol screening/testing procedures as required using Dräger equipment.
- Report accidents, incidents, near misses, vehicle defects, breakdowns, delays, or cargo damage immediately.
- Maintain the cleanliness, security, and general condition of the assigned vehicle.
- Monitor fuel usage and report any irregularities.
- Maintain professional communication with dispatchers, supervisors, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Perform any other reasonable duties related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications & Certifications
- Grade 10 Certificate
- Valid CE Driver's Licence.
- Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
- Valid Dangerous Goods (DG) certification.
- Valid 10-Ton Forklift Licence/Certificate.
- Valid HIAB certification.
- Valid Dräger certification/training.
- HIRA (Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment)
- Experience handling and transporting cargo safely.
Skills and Competencies
- Excellent heavy vehicle driving skills.
- Good knowledge of road safety regulations.
- Good understanding of Dangerous Goods handling requirements.
