Job Purpose
The Production Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, monitoring, and routine maintenance of the FPSO production process. The role supports continuous hydrocarbon production by operating and monitoring process equipment, performing routine field inspections, identifying operational abnormalities, and executing first-line maintenance activities within competency limits. Working closely with the Control Room Operator and Maintenance teams, the Production Technician ensures production targets are achieved while maintaining full compliance with Company HSSEQ standards, permit-to-work procedures, and environmental requirements.

Qualifications
Essential
- National Diploma, Technical Certificate, or Trade Qualification in Process Operations, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Technology, or a related discipline.
- Offshore survival certification (e.g., BOSIET/FOET or equivalent).
- Valid Offshore Medical Certificate.
Preferred
- Process Operations qualification or Operator Competency Certificate.
- Diploma in Process Engineering or Production Operations.
- Permit to Work (PTW) training.
- Gas testing certification.
- Production Operations competency certification.
Experience
Essential
- Minimum 3–5 years experience in hydrocarbon production operations within the oil and gas industry.
- Previous offshore experience on an FPSO, offshore production platform, or offshore processing facility.
- Experience operating oil and gas processing equipment.
- Experience working within a permit-to-work and process safety environment.
Preferred
- Experience supporting start-ups, shutdowns, and commissioning activities.
- Experience with distributed control systems (DCS) and field operations.
- Experience in crude oil processing, gas handling, and produced water treatment.

Working Conditions
- Offshore rotational assignment (typically 21/21 or 28/28).
- 12-hour day/night shifts.
- Work in production process areas, open decks, utility systems, and hazardous (Ex) environments.
- Exposure to hydrocarbons, high-pressure systems, elevated temperatures, noise, offshore weather, and confined spaces.
- Mandatory use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including flame-resistant clothing, gas detection equipment, and other task-specific PPE.
