Role Title: STORES SUPERVISOR
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Grade 12 or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualifications
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
10 years proven stock controlling experience, preferably within an automotive and mining environment. Strong technical knowledge and understanding of automotive processes and components and supply chain management. Computer literate, to include advanced Excel skills, Buildsmart and Microsoft office. SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
Highly skilled at building and maintaining effective and productive relationships with colleagues in the procurement and HME department.
Strong negotiation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
Analytical, numerically astute with strong proven problem identification and solution abilities
Results orientated with the ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines.
Keen attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
A developed and strong foundation of storing skills, function skills and knowledge of relevant purchasing and sourcing concepts.
The job holder must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
ROLE OVERVIEW:
Ensure goods, materials, and services are available to ensure that the company's operational needs are met whilst considering price, quality, and delivery and to ensure continuity of supply.
The job holder will hold a larger remit in terms of storing and issuing responsibility, will have more technical knowledge, expertise, understanding and will be seen as a specialist within their function.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the storing and issuing process for of all parts whilst taking in account cost, quality, and delivery targets.
Provide technical assistance to Buyer's to develop awareness of manufacturing processes and improve product knowledge as well as feedback w.r.t. quality.
Managing the stock levels w.r.t. critical spares, fast movers and providing reports thereof.
Develop and maintain a strong foundation of function skills and knowledge of relevant purchasing and sourcing concepts.
Actively participate in supplier performance reviews.
Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations.
Deliver briefs, updates, and reports as and when required.
Explore alternate sources for goods and materials.
Keep site informed about the progress of the order, availability, shipping dates and anticipated delays.
Assist in managing various parts stores and stock taking.
Assist with PO (Purchase Order) information/allocation and feedback to end users
Assist with DN (Delivery Note)/Invoice reaches admin department for processing.
Handle queries and request from procurement and HME department.
Budgeting and predicting future requirements.
Ensuring minimum stock levels are maintained.
Liaise with Engineering department and planners to ensure that the correct stock is available.
Issuing and receiving of all stock as per company procedures
Ensure that all stock is stored safely and according to the various applicable legislation.
Conduct monthly stocktakes.
Source alternatives and liaise with local suppliers.
Compile reports on slow moving stock and make recommendations.
Maintain paperwork and manage the process from requisition to issue of stock.
Manage storekeeper and assign daily duties.
Capturing delivery notes on system.
Monitoring consignment stock levels and replenish stock levels.
REMAN (remanufactured parts and Core credits) management as well as facilitating store related dispatches.
Tools store management w.r.t. tool control, replacements, and deductions.
Parts liaison: (develop a close working relationship between Procurement and Workshop w.r.t. parts supply and demand.
Control/oversee transport from outside to inside store.
Preparation of monthly reports to Commercial Manager.
Management of time and attendance of self and incumbents.
Audit preparation and facilitation.
Stand in for Storekeeper when absent.
HEALTH, SAFETY, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY (HSEQ):
Assist in meeting the HSEQ targets and objectives set for the department.
Comply with legislative and functional requirements.
Comply with the emergency preparedness and response requirements.
Ensure adequate housekeeping of all stores, excellent neatness.
Quarterly inspections with regards to all tools.
GENERAL:
Perform other duties and responsibilities in the course and scope of your employment with the Company.
Undertake other work within your abilities at the request of the Company.
Act as a role model for the Group's values.
